They promise you guaranteed horse racing profits, but was it a case of Dutch and Win or Dutch and Lose...?

Dutch and Win Racing Review

Review by Will Brown

The Dutch and Win Racing service comes with the tagline “Guaranteed Racing Profits” and in what is quite an impressive sales page, they suggest that they can put up to £1000 in your bank every day of the week. Well, I could live with that!

Dutching, for those of you not familiar with the term, is the process of backing more than one horse in the same race. This is usually done with different stakes so as to ensure the same amount of profit is made if any of your chosen horses win. The down side of course is that if none of your horses win, the losses are larger than if you had only backed the one horse.

Dutch and Win is a service rather than a system, so you get the selections but not the methods used to get them. The current price is £39 per month and for that you get access to a hidden page which is updated daily before 1.30 PM with the selections for that day. Dutch and Win always select two horses in their chosen races, and advise you to back both in order to reach a target profit of your own choice. If either selection is a non runner or is priced below 6/4 then that race is considered a no bet.

A calculator is included to work out the stakes for you if you don’t have any software such as Bet Angel to do it automatically.

So that’s how the service works. I found it fairly easy to use and the selections page was generally updated on time….but what about the results?

Well as there was no real advice given regarding staking , I decided to trial the service with a £1000 bank and aim for a fairly conservative profit of £20 per race. And for the first week things seemed to be going pretty well. I didn’t win in every race by any means, but there were enough winners to give an overall profit and I was optimistic about the service.

That was when it all started to go very wrong.

For the next three weeks, the service seemed to implode. There were several days when five or six races were selected and I didn’t get any winners at all, and of course as I was having to back two horses in each race, the losses began to mount up very quickly.

Despite what the sales page would have you believe, their selections are not all big priced outsiders. In fact on many occasions, all they were doing was picking the first and second favourites. Because of the shorter prices involved and the need to back two horses, I often found myself risking more money on a race than I stood to win – in other words, I was effectively betting odds-on.

When these races lose, you soon find the losses adding up rapidly and you need a very good run of winners to recover. Sadly, that good run was not forthcoming.

By the end of my trial, my £1000 starting bank had reduced to just £622 – a loss of £378.

The other thing I should mention is the customer service – or more accurately, the complete lack of it. I made two attempts to contact the proprietors using the e-mail address they supply on the selections page, and both times my mail was completely ignored.

For me, there is absolutely no excuse for this. If you are paying for a service, the least you can expect is to have your mails answered in a timely and courteous manner. Too ignore your customers completely is unprofessional and leaves me with a very bad impression of the way in which this service is run.

You might be wondering, if the results were poor and the customer service was abysmal, why am I giving this service a neutral rating rather than failed?

Good question! The answer is that all tipping services can go through bad months, particularly in horse racing. I suffered big losses, but this may have just been a bad run and it may be that long term this service could prove profitable. The problem is that the results are not proofed anywhere, so there is really no way of telling this, therefore we can only judge based upon the significant losses sustained during our trial period.

My advice to the proprietors would be firstly to sort your customer service out, and secondly to start proofing your selections to somewhere like Racing Index so that you have some verifiable long term profit claims. Based upon my experience of the service, the claims made on the sales page look like they are extremely unliley to be true.

Verdict: Neutral

At the moment I could not advise anybody to join this service as my experience was not good. Long term proofed results and a major change in attitude to customers is required before this can be recommended.

Review by
Matt Davies

Have you ever tried to follow a
betting system but kept missing out on getting your bets
placed because you were unable to follow the live markets?
The solution is simple - let a betting bot do the work for
you while you go out and get on with your life.

Bet Bot Pro
is an automated betting tool that connects to Betfair via the API interface. It will then place bets for you in either the horse racing or greyhound markets according to the criteria you give it.

"All the features you'll
need to run your systems on auto-pilot"

The software is a very powerful
piece of kit and there are a host of options available. I
programmed in the criteria for a number of the systems I
normally use on a daily basis, and Bet Bot Pro had no
problems whatsoever in handling them all for me on
auto-pilot.

Now betting bots are becoming
more common these days and for a newcomer it can sometimes
be difficult to know how to choose between them. The advice
I would give is to concentrate on features and
reliability.

In other words, can the bot do what you want
it to do, and will it do so reliably? After all, when
there's money at stake you need to be absolutely certain
that you're using software you can trust.

So what can
Bet Bot Pro actually
do? There are probably too many features to actually list - but here are the main
ones...

Place
Back OR Lay bets on UK/US/AUS/RSA Horses (including
place markets) & UK/AUS
Greyhounds

Automate selections based on market position, or
choose individual and multiple selections using your
own betting system selection methods.
Let the software run your
existing systems for you while you're away.

Determine your min & max odds acceptable

Place
bets at a specific time before the race starts

Number
of runners filter (e.g. only bet if there are less
than X runners, or more than Y runners etc)

Multiple staking plan options.
Stake a fixed
amount, or a percent of your bank. Or if you prefer,
you can elect to
try and recover a percentage of any lost bet over a
fixed number of betting cycles.

Bet
below the Betfair minimum bet. If you want to test a
strategy with real money you can get the bot to use
very small amounts, even below the minimum bet of
£2.

Simulation mode - test your strategies without
Risking
real money. This is the best feature of all in my
opinion. Once you have a strategy idea, leave the
software to test it out for you in real market
conditions but without using real money.

Max
loss, Max profit limits. Get the software to
stop
when you reach a profit target for the day, or when
you reach a maximum acceptable loss. This allows you
to protect your betting bank!

As I
said this is just a selection of what the bot can do, but if
I listed all the features I'd be here all day. I think it's
suffice to say that if you have a horse racing or greyhound
betting system or strategy, then

Bet Bot Pro has the features you need to automate it for
you.

So
what about the other main consideration - reliability?

"I wouldn't just trust any
piece of software with my money, but I'm delighted to say

Bet Bot Pro has never let me down..."

This
is the major consideration for me. If you're going to trust
a betting bot with your money, you need to be absolutely
certain that it won't let you down. I started off watching
the bot at work using small stakes, and gradually increased
the stakes when I became more confident it its reliability.

Thankfully I'm glad to say that

Bet Bot Pro has never crashed, hung or let me down in
any other way since I started using it over 10 months ago.
It's been solid, reliable and always gets the job done.

From
a pricing perspective, I liked the fact that
the software has no monthly fees.
You simply pay a one off charge and then that's it - the
software is yours and there is nothing more to pay. You'll
also get 6 months of updates for free, plus access to their
forum where you can share some very interesting ideas on
profitable automated betting strategies with other users.

The
final thing I really need to highlight before I conclude the
review is the simulation mode. In my opinion, this is
probably the best feature that the bot has to offer. Before
you risk your hard earned cash on a betting system, why not
let Bet Bot Pro test the system for you over a period of
time to make sure it really works?

When
you think how many times most of us have started using a new
betting system only to see it fall flat on its face and lose
us a wad of cash, you'll see that
this feature could easily save you the purchase price many
times over.

And
of course, when you do settle on a handful of systems that
make a regular profit, Bet Bot Pro will run them all for you
while you go out and do something more interesting. Just
switch it on in the morning, then come back later to find
how much you've made. Happy days!

Verdict:
Recommended

Competitively priced with no monthly fees.
Feature rich, and above all reliable. My advice would
be don't just get any bot, get one you can trust. Whatever
system you want to run,

Bet Bot Pro will do the job.

Can this laying system really make you an easy £50k a year?

Winners Pick Losers Review

Review by Sarah Carter

Winners Pick Losers is a horse racing laying system that promises to make you an easy £50,000 a year. The sales page goes through the usual routine of telling us how bookies have the best job in the world, etc, and how you never see a poor one. True enough I suppose.

So in theory, all we need is the Winners Pick Losers system in order to be just like a bookie and choose horses to lay on Betfair or Betdaq.

The system comes as a 29 page PDF with a fair degree of padding explaining what lay betting is, what Betfair is, etc but it’s not excessive padding and is useful for newcomers. There’s also an invitation to download a special browser toolbar for use with this system, which is certainly something I have not seen before.

One thing that did annoy me about the Winners Pick Losers manual was the fact that it is littered with spelling errors. A little proof reading goes a long way towards giving an impression of professionalism and would certainly have benefited this manual. However that is a minor complaint – it’s a betting manual not an English essay, and as such the system will be judged on ease of use and results.

“You will need to follow the live markets”

There are step by step instructions on how to follow the Winners Pick Losers selection method, and some sample illustrations are provided to demonstrate. The selection method is clearly defined and easy enough to understand. A simple staking plan is provided which is also well defined and easy to follow.

It does become apparent that you will need to be in a position to follow the live markets in order to use this system so it is unlikely to be suitable for those who work during the day, unless they were to restrict their use to evenings and weekends. It will not be possible to set up a bot to follow this system for you due to one of the criteria involved.

The selection criteria themselves are logical enough if not exactly ground breaking. I have a slight aversion to laying horses that drift in the market though. Just because the price is drifting, doesn’t mean a horse has any less chance of winning, it simply means that the market prefers another runner instead.

A horse has no idea what price it’s going off at remember! A policy of laying drifters just means you’re getting worse value as you are laying at higher prices. However, the system doesn’t rely on market movement in isolation – this is only one of several criteria in the Winners Pick Losers system.

On to the results. I ran the system each day for a month and the final results were as follows.

Final Results -
Betting Days: 30
Strike Rate: 60%
P/L: £309.27 Loss (- 30.9 Points)

Results are quoted to Betfair SP, net of 5% commission on winnings.

So a fairly hefty loss, and a strike rate lower than you would hope for in a laying system. Of course this may have been just a bad month and laying systems especially can go through good and bad periods throughout the year so I don’t want to entirely condemn Winners Pick Losers just on these sample results.

To be honest though I found the system quite time consuming and the fact that it was necessary to watch the markets manually means it’s doubly frustrating when you have to put in all that time only to lose money.

Winners Pick Losers may well have better months and recover some of the losses, but I don’t think many people would have the time and patience to see it through that long.

There are better, and easier to follow systems out there (see the recommended systems for more details) so I can’t recommend Winners Pick Losers based on my experience.

Verdict: Failed

On paper, a logical enough lay betting selection system, but Winners Pick Losers is laborious to use, and made a fairly hefty loss during my test period. As such I can’t recommend it.

Want to trade on Betfair? This is one of several products that say they have the answer...

The Trading Project Review

Review by Martin Richardson

The trading project is a method of trading on the betting exchanges and could be used to equal effect at Betfair or Betdaq. The manual advises you to focus on specific horses in specific races, and shows you how to look for certain factors which will influence whether prices are likely to reduce (steam) or increase (drift) before the start of the race.

The selection process is not entirely mechanical and is open to some degree of interpretation, so it is possible that different people could end up with different results. However, I completely accept that this is the nature of trading so is entirely expected.

The process is sensible and logical but some form reading is required and it may take a little practise in order to get it right on a regular basis. I think this is fair enough, and anyone new to trading would expect to have to spend a little practise time to hone their skills.

You are advised to enter a trade at a certain time and exit when the price has moved (hopefully in your favour) by a certain amount. Again, this is in my opinion a perfectly sensible approach.

There are worked examples in the manual with screenshots of what to look for before placing a trade, and how each particular trade was opened and closed.

Overall, I think the method is logical and could well make an overall profit. Whilst it would probably not be of much use to experienced traders, if you have never traded before then this may be a good enough starting point.

The main gripe that I have with this system is that it doesn’t do what the advertising claims it does

The sales page certainly makes some bold claims. Apparently this is “the most powerful Betfair system you will ever see”.

If the sales page is to be believed, you’ll be able to quit your day job after reading the manual! And most enticingly of all, it claims that profit will be guaranteed on every single race!

Are these claims true? In a word – no.

However this doesn’t mean that the system itself is no good – in fact it is probably the best piece of work I have seen from this author (although there have been some other previous efforts which offer very little in the way of competition!).

Unlike many of his previous manuals, I think that this particular system does have some merit, so it is a shame that the sales page attempts to write cheques that the system can’t cash. If he had made more honest and realistic claims I would feel a lot better about recommending this system.

Unfortunately though, there is no such thing as a guaranteed way to profit on the exchanges. Losses are certainly possible using this method, and at some point you will experience losses when trading – he even goes into when to cut out of a losing trade in the manual, so how can he claim on the sales page that profits are guaranteed?

Furthermore I certainly wouldn’t agree that anybody could quit their job on the strength of reading this manual.

Verdict: Neutral

This system is fairly well though out and has some merit. I would expect that anybody following the instructions would make a profit in the long term. However, the sales material is somewhat misleading and makes some claims that are simply not true, so I am unable to go as far as to recommend the system on that basis.

The Legacy & Saver System Review

Review by Sarah Carter

If you’ve been into sports betting systems for a while, particularly horse racing, then the chances are you’ve heard of the Legacy and Saver Systems before.

It seems to me as though these two systems have been around since time began, but you have to look on that as a very, very good thing indeed.

You see, whilst some new systems have come along onto the market promising the moon on a stick, only to fall away soon afterwards leaving behind a trail of empty wallets, the Legacy and Saver systems have just kept on churning out consistent winners every year since 1993!

“I can’t think of many systems that have stood the test of time as well as the Legacy System”

Personally I’ve been using the Legacy & Saver Systems since 2004, and they’ve made me a profit every single year.

What I like about the systems are their simplicity. The selections are really easy to obtain. The instructions are clear and there is no ambiguity and no personal judgement required – everyone who uses the system will get the same selections.

The selections can be found the night before, which is ideal if you work during the days. You can either place your bets in advance using a bookmaker, or set up a bot such as Bet Bot Pro to do it for you on the exchanges.

The Legacy & Saver System website has all results going back to 2002. Now I’ve not been using the systems that long myself, but I can confirm that results from 2004 onwards are accurate.

The only thing to note is that they give financial returns based on stakes of £200 per point which may be a little too much for some people. What it boils down to though is that the systems yield a profit of between 100 and 150 points per year, every year, which for me makes them a very worthwhile addition to any betting systems portfolio.

“You can probably expect to get even better results than advertised”

The results displayed are using industry SP – which of course means that it may be possible to get even better results than those claimed by using Betfair SP.

You can also build up your bank by reinvesting your profits rather than withdrawing them. Based upon a 100 point betting bank, you should be able to more than double your money every year using the Legacy & Saver Systems.

By doing this, you’ll be in a position to match the advertised stakes of £200 a point before long, and that’s when the really big money starts to roll in.

Like any backing systems, the Legacy & Saver Systems will of course have winning and losing runs throughout the year, but the systems have made a large overall profit each year and you cannot argue with the consistency of the returns.

The systems also come with a money back guarantee so you can give them a try risk-free and return them for a full refund if for any reason they don’t suit your tastes.

For me though, I’ll just keep on using the systems and happily watch them churn out the same profits year after year.

Verdict: Recommended

Easy to use, and consistently profitable every year for over 15 years. A must for any betting system portfolio.

Review by Will Brown

The Format Racing Method is a horse racing backing system that promises to make you £1,000 per week. Like most people I would find that sort of money very hard to turn down, so I was happy to put it to the test.

My first impressions were quite good, as the Format Racing Method has a professional look about it, from the website right down to the layout and presentation of the manual itself.

The instructions in the manual are reasonably clear. What the Format Racing Method actually involves is dutching. For those who aren’t familiar with the term, dutching involves backing more than one horse in a race, the idea being that if you have more than one horse running for you then you stand more chance of winning – but of course you make less profit when you do win.

“You will need to follow the live markets to use The Format Racing Method”

One thing to bear in mind with The Format Racing Method is that you do need to be in a position to follow the live markets in order to use it. You cannot obtain your selections and place your bets the night before, so the method may be unsuitable for those who work during the day, although of course it could still be used on evenings and weekends.

Something else to note is that dutching is not simply a case of backing more than one selection at level stakes. Some calculations are required to ensure an equal amount of profit is made no matter which of your selections wins.

This can be done automatically if you use trading software, but if you’re placing your bets manually you will need to obtain a dutching calculator to figure out the stakes for you. It can be a bit fiddly to do, especially when prices keep changing very quickly immediately prior to the race.

So that’s the usability aspect, but what about the all important results?

Final Results -
Non Betting Days: 0
Betting Days: 14
P/L: £221.36 Loss

I tested the Format Racing method out on two weeks’ worth of live racing, and unfortunately the results were not good.

I followed the system instructions to the letter but sadly I made an overall loss of 11 points in 2 weeks.

When I returned to the manual I was able to quickly spot some flaws in the reasoning behind the system which, in my opinion, explain why the method did not succeed and why it is unlikely to ever do so.

“Some of the mathematical claims were questionable”

I can’t really pick the method apart in any detail here because to do so would give it away, and this would be unfair to the author who I believe is genuine about his system.

A few things stand out though. The manual claims that 70% of races are won by the first 3 in the market, but I would argue that this varies depending on track, type of race, and most importantly the price of the front 3.

Furthermore, in the manual we are told to ignore occasions when our stake required in order to earn a target profit per race is too high. However this frequently occurs when the favourite is at a shorter price. And if we assume the market is efficient (which with the Betfair market is generally recognised as being the case) when the favourite is at a shorter price, it means it’s more likely to win.

What this means is that by ignoring these races, we’re bringing the success rate of the races we do get involved in down, meaning it will definitely be lower than the 70% that is claimed by the manual, and required for the method to succeed.

As I mentioned earlier I don’t think this method is a deliberate attempt to deceive. I think the author genuinely believes in the system, but life is all about different opinions and mine is that the mathematics behind the system are flawed, and that it will not make a profit in the long term.

My opinion was supported by my test results, so unfortunately I must ask for The Format Racing Method to be marked as a failed system.

Verdict: Failed

In my opinion, the mathematics behind The Format Racing Method are flawed. It made a loss during my test period and I don’t feel it will ever make a profit over the long term.

Football Cash Builder Review

Review by Sarah Carter

The Football Cash Builder is a football betting system (or soccer betting system if you prefer) which promises to be incredibly quick easy to use, and yet bring the author an income of £100,000 per year.

When I first read through the instructions, I felt I had to agree with the claim that the system was going to be very quick and easy to use.

The selection method is incredibly simple. You simply get hold of a bookie’s coupon, look for bets at the specified odds, place the bets and job done. There is no form study of any sort required.

The author advises a staking plan involving a cycle of 3 bets using loss recovery. If the 3rd bet in the cycle loses, you accept the loss and start again. It is claimed that you will achieve an 80% strike rate this way which would be required in order to achieve the profit figures claimed.

So does it work? I’m afraid not.

“Any selection system based solely on the price a bookmaker is offering is an incredibly bad idea”

It’s not difficult to pick holes in this system – in fact the holes are so large it’s a challenge to avoid falling into them. The alarm bells should have started to ring for you when I said that there was absolutely no form study required.

A selection system with no other criteria except the price offered by a bookmaker can never work. For one thing, prices are usually too short due to the book over round. Secondly, the prices can differ from bookmaker to bookmaker meaning a bet could qualify as a selection with one bookmaker and not with another.

Blindly accepting the prices offered on a coupon without question is the quick road to the poor house, and so it proved with the test of the Football Cash Builder system.

Following the system rules to the letter, I placed 20 bets and won just 8. This gave the Football Cash Builder a 40% strike rate, falling way short of the 80% that the author claims.

Final Results -
Bets Placed: 20
Bets Won: 8
Bets Lost: 12
Strike Rate: 40%
P/L: £125.41 Loss (- 12.5 Points)

I’m glad I only paper traded the Football Cash Builder, as I would never want to expose my own money on such a bad idea.

As for the claims of £100,000 a year – well let’s say I have my doubts!

So I’ll have to cancel the order for a new Ferrari unfortunately, and file Football Cash Builder in the recycle bin. I’ll be sticking to the recommended systems instead, as I know they will actually make me money.

Verdict: Failed

Whilst it is admittedly very easy to use, in my opinion, The Football Cash Builder has an illogical selection system which produced a loss during testing and is unlikely to ever produce anything but a substantial loss long term.

John Morrison reckons his US Sports betting system has a 97% win rate. Is he right? Read our review...

Sports Betting Champ Review

Review by Martin Richardson

I have found it necessary to update this review following my experiences of the Sports Betting Champ system over the course of 2008 and 2009.

I first reviewed this system in December 2008 and on the whole, despite a couple of slight misgivings, my impressions were very positive. However I now feel there are more facts that you need to be aware of before deciding whether to purchase this system.

The Sports Betting Champ system by John Morrison actually comprises 3 systems for the major US sports – basketball (NBA), baseball (MLB) and American football (NFL). The sales page boasts a 97% win rate across all bets and promises “untold winnings for life”.

Well – don’t they all?

Now if you’re anything like me, the promise of a 97% win rate will have set some alarm bells ringing. To obtain a strike rate like this you’d usually either have to be backing at extremely low odds or laying at extremely high odds.

“A bet according to John Morrison is actually a series of 3 loss recovery bets”

Well in this case it’s neither – instead you use loss recovery in a cycle of 3 bets. You see, a “bet” according to John Morrison is actually a series of 3 bets with progressive staking for loss recovery – so if you lose bet A your stake for bet B increases to win back your losses on Bet A in addition to your normal stake.

If Bet B loses, your stake for bet C increases again to win back your losses for bets A and B in addition to your normal stake. If Bet C loses you go no further and it is counted as a loss. However, with the majority of bets being at odds on prices (i.e. less than 2.0), you should be aware that if bet C loses your total loss will be fairly significant.

Now this in itself is not necessarily a bad thing as long as the long term expectancy is positive. You may lose occasionally but the profits from the bets you win should more than compensate for the odd loss and still leave you in profit overall.

I have to say that over the 2008 NBA season I did end up with a decent profit from Sports Betting Champ. There were a couple of losing cycles but the vast majority won, usually without getting to bet C, and I made a profit overall which I was happy with.

In the 2009 NBA season the system did not encounter a losing cycle – but by that time I was no longer able to follow the system. Here’s why….

“The website promises free picks for life but the reality is very different…..”

My problems started in Spring 2008 just before the start of the baseball (MLB) season.

You see, John Morrison’s sales page promised that anyone buying his systems would receive the system selections by e-mail for life. This for me was a major selling point, as it would save plenty of time going through the US sports fixtures and identifying system selections.

You can imagine my surprise then when, a couple of weeks before the MLB season was due to start, I received an e-mail from John Morrison asking for a cheque for $100 in order to obtain his baseball picks for the season!

Naturally I queried this, reminding him that his Sports Betting Champ sales page stated that all picks would be free for life and – as neither of us was dead – that should still apply.

Eventually (after 3 attempts) I got a reply saying that I could have the picks for half price (only $50) for the season. I replied saying that I appreciated his offer but £50 is still not free, and that if he could not honour his agreement I would contact Clickbank for a refund of the full purchase price.

Needless to say this did the trick and I was added to John’s baseball picks list for free.

“Some of the results claimed on the Sports Betting Champ website are simply not true”

Now comes the next gripe and for me this is blatant false advertising. The Sports Betting Champ sales page now claims a 100% strike rate was achieved during the 2008 MLB season.

Now that is simply not true, there were some lost cycles – however towards the end of the season John Morrison decided to change the rules of the system, applying an extra filter which would have meant those lost bets would have been filtered out.

This is a clear case of back fitting as far as I am concerned and to now advertise a strike rate that was not achieved is very misleading to say the least.

As far as the Sports Betting Champ “free” picks are concerned, John Morrison has again asked for $100 for his basketball picks at the start of the NBA season.

“The free picks advertised are now virtually useless”

This time, the £100 gets you the picks at least 24 hours before the start of a game, whereas the free picks are sent just 30 minutes before the start meaning you have very little time to get your bets on. Very clever – John has obviously learned his lesson from the Baseball season!

This time we can no longer pick him up on the fact that he promised free picks because now he will still send them to you for free, but he’ll send them so late that they are virtually useless to you, so you need to send him another $100.

Well sorry John, but you won’t be getting a cheque from me.

My final gripe is the constant pushing of the US bookmaker BetUS, John Morrison clearly has a deal going with them and wants everybody who buys his system to sign up there. There’s no problem with that as such, but the guy just won’t seem to take no for an answer.

The problem is that I have found BetUS very problematic in the past, and there is absolutely no need for us to join them when we can place all the bets required by this system with our very own Bet365 including the point spreads bets required.

“There is no need to join BetUS”

Please – if you do buy this system, do not use BetUS unless you are prepared for a long and painful struggle to withdraw your winnings. You will be much better off using Bet365 instead.

Well that’s all my gripes out of the way and it is a shame to have to report negatively on certain aspects of this system and the behaviour of the seller, because the bottom line is that the system does work!

I did profit from the 2008 NBA season and I did profit from the MLB season (despite incurring a couple of losses that we now don’t seem to be counting according to John!)

I accept that had the filter been applied then the MLB season would have been 100% – but it wasn’t mentioned until after the season. Nevertheless if we look ahead, it could very well help to achieve a much better strike rate next year.

Overall I cannot actually recommend that you go and buy the Sports Betting Champ system due to the misleading sales material, shocking customer service and unscrupulous seller – however in terms of results, up until now I have to concede that it does work.

If you want to go ahead and purchase the Sports Betting Champ system then I see no reason why you won’t make a profit with it, but do be aware of the points I have raised above and don’t hesitate to question John should he try to demand any more $100 cheques from you in the future.

It’s amazing how quickly he will change his mind when you mention asking Clickbank for a refund!

Verdict: Neutral

The bottom line is that it has made a profit so far (albeit using increasing stakes at tiny odds). However I am deeply concerned by the integrity of the seller, or lack thereof. It’s not a write off by any means, but proceed with caution.

The Favourites Phenomenon (FP) System and bot can make you regular profits from horse racing on auto-pilot...

Favourites Phenomenon System Review

Review by M Davies

The Favourites Phenomenon System (or FP System for short) first came to my attention in July 2008 when a number of people contacted me to say they had heard great things about it, and could I do a review before they decided to buy?

Well with the abundance of crap systems on the market at the time I was delighted to oblige in the hope of finding something decent amongst all the rubbish. I am very happy to say that my time was not spent in vain, this system is the real deal.

The system is sold by a guy called Matt Watson. Matt is a professional gambler and he claims to achieve a 98% strike rate with his system. Now I know what you’re thinking – too good to be true right? Well, no it isn’t. The high strike rate is achieved because this is a “stop at a winner” system – basically you increase your stakes over a series of bets until you hit a target profit for the day.

“Anyone using the Favourites Phenomenon system will make a good long term profit”

Now normally I tend to run a mile from progressive staking systems, but when I first saw this I knew it was something very different to what I had seen before. This is not a case of blindly increasing your stakes and hoping for a winner.

The staking method has been very well thought out and carefully calculated to ensure that your potential liability is kept well under control before you start to bet. It is this care and attention to detail, combined with the very high strike rate, which will ensure that anyone using this system will make a good long term profit.

The FP system is not a downloadable PDF, instead you get access to a password protected members website which contains the entire system instructions. The system itself is very simple to follow and is very well explained, so there is no room for any ambiguity.

You will also get access to a very useful calculator tool which you can use to make sure you are following the staking plan correctly.

There are actually three different possible staking plans to use with the system, depending on your preferred level of risk.

For the purposes of my trial I used the level 3 staking plan. Using this plan gives the highest possible strike rate of 98% but also had the highest maximum potential loss.

Probably the only downside to this system is that if you plan to follow the system manually you will need to be in front of your computer immediately prior to each race. This may only be for a very short time if you hit a winner early, but could take a few hours if you don’t get the winner until later in the day.

Fortunately, even this small downside can be overcome by using the excellent Favourites Phenomenon bot. This tool is available for a small monthly charge and basically runs the entire system on auto-pilot for you. All you need to do is turn it on in the morning, tell it your preferred staking level and press go. You can then go away and do whatever you want for the day and come back later on to find out your daily target has been achieved.

Which brings us to the most important aspect of any test – the results.

I ran the system for 6 weeks. During that time there were 18 days in which I did not bet, either because it was an official “no bet day” according to the system criteria, or because I was away from my desk and had (foolishly) forgotten to switch on the bot. The remaining 24 days produced my target profit on every occasion, and never went anywhere near a potential loss.

I also checked the results on the days when I had forgotten to use the bot and they would all have been winning days as well which would have increased by profit to 28 points, however as I did not place these bets I cannot include them in my results.

Final Result -
Non Betting Days: 18
Betting Days: 24
P/L: £240 Profit

Before I close, I should also point out that the customer service behind this system is superb. This is not one of those systems sellers who just takes your money, sends you a pdf and forgets all about you. Matt Watson comes across to me as a genuine guy who actually wants you to succeed. He sends regular e-mails before each racing day to advise on the betting for that day, plus regular weekly updates as well.

Furthermore, all my e-mails were answered promptly and courteously, and the one small problem I had with the bot (which was down to me, not the software itself) was sorted out in no time at all. I think this level of service really does count for a lot especially when you consider how many dodgy systems sellers are out there who just take your money and don’t want to know.

The system comes with a money back guarantee so there is absolutely no reason not to give it a try, as there will be no problem getting your money back if you decide it’s not for you for any reason.

Verdict: Recommended

Overall, I would highly recommend this system. In my opinion the system will deliver a good long term profit and you could do a lot worse than adding this to your portfolio.

Paul Fowlie's Dodgy Favourites system tested and reviewed by Free Bet Advice. How did it perform...?

Dodgy Favourites Review

Review by Colin Pendlebury

The Dodgy Favourites system by Paul Fowlie is one of the latest betting systems to be released by Sportsworld Publishing. The aim of the system is to go against the crowd, and identify horses that will be over-bet by the market.

The idea is that these horses should go off at a shorter price than they actually should be, thus allowing us to lay them on the betting exchanges at a superficially short price. This means each bet should be a value lay and ensure a long term profit.

The system is very brief – in fact it comes as a Word document that is only 2 pages long, so none of the usual padding that you get with a lot of systems these days.

When you look at the selection criteria you’ll probably be a bit surprised, especially if you’ve used other horse racing back and lay systems before, because a lot of the criteria would normally be associated with picking horses to back rather than to lay.

“Going AGAINST the crowd is a novel way to make a profit – but it works”

But you have to remember the key theme of the Dodgy Favourites system is to obtain value lays, which is precisely why you need to go against what everyone else will be doing in order to profit. It’s certainly a novel way to go about things, but the most important thing is that it works.

The selections are certainly easy enough to obtain, there should be no ambiguity and everyone should get the same results. I can’t really say that the manual is particularly well written or otherwise, as it’s basically a list of bullet points that define the selection criteria. However I found it perfectly easy to understand and did not need to query anything with the author.

Another potential benefit is that selections can be obtained the night before, and bets placed in advance using Betfair SP, making the system suitable for those at work during the day.

“The results show a consistent profit year on year with 299 Pts Profit since Jan 2003″

I trialled the Dodgy Favourites system for six weeks. During the trial period there were several days when meetings were abandoned due to bad weather. Because of this I got only 11 selections during this time. With 10 of my 11 bets winning, I made a healthy profit of 9.14 Points after standard 5% commission – all prices quoted to Betfair SP.

Although obviously these are impressive results, I do feel that this is too small a sample on which to judge the Dodgy Favourites system. Therefore, I decided to enter the selection criteria into my results database and back test the system on all races run since January 2003.

I’m pleased to say the results I got from the database were no less impressive. An overall strike rate of 79% was achieved, with a profit of just short of 300 points being made to estimated Betfair SP, again after 5% commission.

Final Results:

During Trial Period:
Strike Rate: 91%
P/L: 9.14 Pts Profit (to Betfair SP, net of 5% commission)

(£182.80 to £20 level stakes)

Since 2003:
Strike Rate: 79%
P/L: 299.1 Pts Profit (to Betfair SP, net of 5% commission)

(£5,982 to £20 level stakes)

Verdict: Recommended

Overall I have no hesitation in recommending this system. It’s brief and gets straight to the point, which is either a good or bad thing depending on your point of view. However what cannot be disputed is that the selections are easy to obtain, and can be done in advance the night before. Most importantly of course, the bottom line is that it makes a consistent profit and I can see no reason why it will not continue to do so in the future.
